Why have a Community Calendar?

What makes this calendar a Community Calendar is everyone's participation to post their event on the calendar. If that is done when the date is decided upon, than other civic-minded people can look to the Community Calendar when scheduling their event, and not pick the same date.

Events held on different dates would mean that events wouldn't be competing for the same attendees. And posting the event on this Community Calendar means that more people will see your event, and can attend.

So, it's up to you as a member of the Oxford community to post your event.

How to add your event!

We accept a listing of any event located in the Oxford Area School District where the public is invited.

This Community Calendar is designed so that you as the site visitor can add your event, yourself. But the event will not appear on the calendar until this website's editor reviews the submission, just to maintain the integrity of the calendar. In order to do that in a timely manner we ask that you submit your event in a two-step process.

Step One:
Click here to bring up the calendar in a separate browser window. On the left hand side of the calendar you will see the word login. Click login and input the username as Visitor and the password as Visitor. Both are case sensitive. All visitors to the community calendar will use the same login and password.

Click login again and the page will change back to the calendar again, except along the left hand side of the calendar you will find the words: Add Event. Click Add Event.

Make the 'title' of the event no more than 20-25 characters long. This is the text that will show on the calendar on the date you specify. In the 'description' of the event include a brief, but detailed description, including any cost to attend, and, especially, where the event is located. Add a contact phone number in this area, for those people needing more information about your event. This information will appear when the title of your event is clicked.

Type in your name as the person submitting the event and your email address as contact email address. Neither your name or email address will show up in the calendar listing. This is for our use only to contact you if we have any questions about the event.

Click 'save and continue'. Enter in the start and end time of the event. Be sure to choose AM or PM. If the event has no beginning and end time, such as an all day event, leave that box blank. Then enter in the date of the event. Choose either an individual date or a date range. If you click on the box that has a > on it, you will be offered a calendar. You can choose the date from the calendar. Click save at the bottom of the page.

Another Add Event page will appear. If this was your only event to add then click 'logout' in the upper right hand corner (this appears next to 'site visitor').

If you've think you've made an error, or need to add more information about the event, please send us an email and we'll make the correction/addition. Your listing will be reviewed by our editor and added to the calendar with 24-48 hours.

Step Two and an very important Step Two!
Once you've submitted the event click here to send an email to the website editor to let us know. This will quicken the review process and get your event listed as quickly as possible. You don't need to write anything in the body of the email. Just click send.

Trouble? If you are having trouble submitting your event through the Community Calendar itself then send us notice of your community event by filing out this form. We'll add your event.
